The game

What is Markhor Meadow?

Markhor Meadow is a cozy village-building game for iPhone. You are the mayor of a new settlement in a mountain valley inspired by northern Pakistan. You build homes and workshops that finish in real time, gather and craft, fish and garden, furnish every building and welcome ten residents.

When does Markhor Meadow come out?

It is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone. There is no release date to announce yet. When it is live, every “App Store” button on this site turns into a download link.

What kind of game is it?

A cozy, relaxed life-and-building game. There is no combat and nothing to lose. You plan a village, gather and craft materials, build, decorate, fish, garden and look after your neighbors. Buildings take real time, so it suits short visits through the day.

Where is it set?

In a mountain valley inspired by the mountain valleys of northern Pakistan, with Afghan- and Pakistani-influenced music. The markhor, the wild goat in the title, is Pakistan’s national animal.

Who makes it?

Markhor Meadow is an independent game with no publisher. See About.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone, played in landscape. It is not announced for any other platform.

Can I play more than one village?

Yes. You can keep several separate villages on the same phone.

Is there multiplayer or cloud save?

No. Markhor Meadow is a single-player game and your villages are saved on your iPhone. Apple may include the game’s data in your own device or iCloud backups, depending on your settings.

Playing

How long do buildings take?

From 10 minutes for the Mayor’s house to 24 hours for the Mountain fortress and Mountain cathedral. They keep building while the game is closed. See the village guide for every building.

Can I speed up building without paying?

Yes. Tap Help build on a building site: each tap takes 5% off the build time (between 1 and 20 minutes), once every ten minutes per site. You also get more builders as the village grows.

How do I get new residents?

Each specialty building welcomes the resident who runs it. Build the Bakery and Mehr moves in; build the Fishing lodge and Neshat does. Resident cottages add room for more.

What does Zarif do?

Zarif, the winged snow-leopard spirit, is the valley’s merchant: he sells furniture blueprints for Silver and brings a diamond and a rare piece at the weekend. Wishes come from someone else: the sky dragon, which lands on the snowy summit now and then. Meet Zarif.

What can I catch in the river?

Salmon, sturgeon, jellyfish and sharks. There is also a fish of the day. See the fishing guide.

Will I miss anything if I do not play every day?

No. Storage keeps filling while you are away, and unclaimed weekly festival rewards are delivered at the end of the week. In the game’s words, nothing is ever lost.

Coins, Silver and privacy

Is Markhor Meadow free?

Yes. It will be free to download, with optional in-app purchases of Coins. Everything in the game can be earned by playing and waiting. Coins only speed things up or buy materials, and every Coin spend asks you to confirm first.

What is the difference between Coins and Silver?

Silver is earned by playing and spent in the Shop and with Zarif. Coins are the special currency: you earn up to 8 free every day and can buy more as an optional purchase. See Coins and Silver.

Does it need internet, an account or ads?

No. It plays offline, has no account or sign-in, shows no ads and has no tracking. You only need a connection to buy or restore Coins.

What data does the game collect?

None about you. Your villages stay on your iPhone. Only when you buy Coins does a purchase record go to Apple and RevenueCat so the Coins can be delivered. Read the privacy policy.

Does this website use cookies?

No. This website has no cookies, analytics, tracking scripts or email sign-up.
